Entry #10. Concert Ticket Prices

Image
Concerts are awesome events.  The joy and excitement rise within people as the days come closer to seeing their favorite artists perform live.  People go shopping for outfits to wear to the event.  Females get their hair and nails done as well.  The question is, have you ever thought about how much people spend to attend concerts? The price for concert tickets have gotten ridiculously high.  Just looking at the artist Drake's concert ticket prices made my stomach hurt.  Drake's concert tickets are about the same as paying for your mortgage or making two to three car payments.  Taylor Swift's tickets are pricey as well.  I have nothing against them, it's just that I can't see myself paying such a high price. If you add up the ticket price, the salon, an outfit, and parking, the total is really scary to look at.  Parking  is normally in the range of $20-$25, but can go up to $50 if you park closer to the venue.  The ticket price gets even higher if you want a closer s

Entry #9. Eggs

Image
Eggs are great to eat as a snack or a meal.  Do we really know what type of eggs we are eating when we are at a restaurant or going through a fast food joint?  When you look at a menu, have you noticed that it just says eggs, but not what type?  Some people prefer white eggs over brown eggs.  There are people that prefer to have organic eggs.  We don't even know if they are fresh eggs or liquid eggs. I chose to write this blog about eggs because I just recently found out some information when I was having breakfast at a restaurant.  I think that the information I am about to reveal is interesting to know.  I overheard another guest asking for fresh eggs when they were placing their order and I was a bit confused at first.  When my server came to take my order, I asked her if there were different types of eggs that they use to make their omelets.  She confirmed that there were two types, but they don't advertise it and it's only if you ask for it.  She told me that they us

Entry #8. Movie and Music Remakes

https://click.justwatch.com/a?r=https://justwatch.com/us/movie/white-men-cant-jump-2023?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web Movies and music go way back for years.  People can still watch classics on television as they are still being shown during certain times mainly as specials.  Music from the eighties and nineties are still being played on the radio.  People are still downloading old music from YouTube or other forms.  Old movies are available to be viewed via streaming methods. New music and movies are being released year round.  The problem with some of the new movies is that they are remakes of older movies.  There are so many ideas out there for movies, but producers and directors are going back to remaking older movies.  Some remakes are alright, but others should have never been remade.  A horrible remake actually ruins the original film for some people. Music has so many genres.  Musicians have tried to remake some old music, but should have left it alone.  Nowadays, there

Entry #7. Farming to Food

(Courtesy of Brian Reisinger) The Process of Food People don't really have the real details of what it takes to get food to places for sale to consumers.  Livestock from small farms was the way to go back in the days.  Nowadays, everything has to do with mechanical equipment and automation in huge factory run farms.  You go to the grocery store, fast food restaurant, food truck or a dine in restaurant and you never think about the process of how the food got to you.  Now you have choices between organic and non organic food. Eating healthy has been around for a long time.  Some people just thought that it was about cutting back on fatty foods and taking in lower calories.  In our present time, we have the organic option now.  You can go to the grocery store and find a regular pack of ground beef, but you will also see organic grass fed beef

Entry #6. Las Vegas

Image
Ever since I was ten years old, I was fascinated with Las Vegas.  I had the opportunity to experience it as a child.  My family planned a reunion at the Circus Circus Hotel & Casino.  It was the perfect setting for us children because the hotel had an entire kids station located upstairs above the casino.  The parents were able to gamble downstairs while the children played carnival style games upstairs.   The thought of Las Vegas being a party city is true, but it also hosts business ventures and conventions.  Yes, it is known to be a party location, but it's not just about that.  I have been going to Las Vegas every other year since I was eighteen.  I make trips there for weddings, conventions, and more.  As for me, I am not so into the party scene.  I noticed that the majority of the party crowd are people ranging in age from eighteen to forty.  The party seems to run 24/7 at the pool to the night clubs. Nowadays, I don't really feel Las Vegas to be all the hype they m

Entry #5. Mayhem

https://youtu.be/CO-_cmXiBL4 The Allstate Tailgater advertisement is what I chose to discuss.  The point of this advertisement was simply made and understandable.  Allstate couldn't go wrong with this advertisement.   This advertisement shows a man driving while another man is tailing him.  The man is shown constantly looking at his side view mirror and not paying attention to what is in front of him.  The mayhem happens when he is preoccupied watching the vehicle tailing him that he ends up crashing into a pickup truck in front of him.   I believe the main focus or point of this advertisement is that we should make sure to have the proper insurance coverage for all types of accidents.  It is relaying the message that we should sign up with Allstate who offers insurance coverage for all types of incidents.  Allstate is trying to convince viewers that they have the better options for insurance over their competitors.  The author of this advertisement wants viewers to think about t

Entry #4. Putting My Life on Hold

I never imagined that my life would be put on hold, but it was.  You go through life day to day and never think about anything crazy happening.  You see everyone going about their business and not a thought about anything negative happening to them or delaying them from proceeding with their lives. It happened to me.  On April 30, 2004, I got the news that put my life on hold.  My sister had called and told me that our mom had a stroke and lost her speech along with her comprehension.  I was in total shock and speechless.  My mind was going crazy with all kinds of thoughts about what was happening at the moment and in the future.  That wasn't the end of it.  She ended up having a heart attack and needing a triple bypass as well.   After being released from the hospital, my mom needed a lot of therapy.  My father was in Iraq, so I was left to care for her.  I became my mom's full time caregiver.  While doing this, I really didn't have time to do things with my daughter.  Ac
